Harland Quinn is taking Miss Alleyn ... Fishing

Harland Quinn is taking Miss Alleyn … Fishing

At the end of Episode 1.5 of The Blackened Mirror, Harland Quinn tells Alais Alleyn to get what she needs – and that he will need more ammo; they’re going fishing.

But what other arrangements does Quinn make as he plans to leave Seraph City?

Now we can tell you …

Before leaving Seraph City, Harland Quinn wrote a number of letters and sent them to various friends, telling them where they might find the gifts he had left for them. And you can find the letters on the web – but you’ll have to answer a few questions that test your knowledge of The Blackened Mirror to find them!

You’ll find full instructions on how to play this game, and the first clue here.

The final item will lead you to a special prize – it unlocks access to part 3 of Death in Velvet, the radio play of a Harland Quinn mystery (separate to the main series, but referencing some of the characters – and with some very special guest stars!).

By the end of the game, you should have had access to a number of letters from Quinn (and thank you to Zander Greene for writing the letters) from which you will learn something more about Harland Quinn and his relationships with the people around him. And that, for Blackened Mirror fans, is the best prize of all!

What messages is Quinn leaving behind in Seraph City?

However, there is also a version of this game that you can play within Second Life, where you can find extra gifts. For more details of the inworld game, see here.

Venice on Prada

Venice on Prada

I was tempted to explore this sim by a recent post from Honour Macmillan on her blog, – Honour’s Post Menopausal (View of Second Life). Usually I would use one of her amazing photos – but this time the skies were dark, and I thought it would be kinder to fellow jigsaw enthusiasts to capture an image in the daylight!

I was so impressed by this build. As anyone who has followed me for any length of time will know, the first offices of Prim Perfect were on Venice Island, tucked away by one of the canals. Later we moved to a rather more grand palazzo in the same location – modelled on the pink one you see at the left of the jigsaw. No, you can’t see them – there were very 2007 builds! Finally we had an outlier office in the campanile in the centre of the square which, with glass walls inside, gave rather fine views.

Venice Island is now long gone, of course, in all but name – I think it’s still part of Regent Estates, but now a private residential island.

This Venice is, however, beautiful – I was impressed walking around – the use of textures is very clever, to the extent that – even with a very basic camera technique, it’s easily possible to capture very realistic shots – as I did. Do go and take a look – and take a look at Honour’s blogpost too!

UPDATE: The textures were created by Second Life photographer Quinn Ying, and the build is by ӃɑҽԂҽ (kaedepan.akina) – a really awesome job!

But before you go there, here’s a certain jigsaw …

Catch up with your Prim Perfect jigsaws (showing images of Second Life and other virtual worlds).

If you’d like to submit a photo of your own to feature as a jigsaw, send it to the Prim Perfect Flickr Group. It should be sized 800w x 600h, or else it will need to be re-sized.
