Prim Perfect Talks at the Home and Garden Expo: Black Tulip and the Monster Mesh Mash Up!

Throughout the Home and Garden Expo, Prim Perfect has been running a series of talks at the Prim Perfect Temple on Home Expo 6. You’ll see a full list of the talks at the bottom of this post.

Today Rosamoo Mendelsohn will be talking to Auryn Beorn of Black Tulip at 3pm, and at 5pm, Saffia Widdershins will be hosting a Monster Mesh Mash Up – with a wealth of mesh creators appearing.

At 3pm, Auryn Beorn of Black Tulip with be talking to Rosamoo Mendelsohn about Mesh, Scripts and how education about them can lead to a better Second Life for us all – and we hope there will be demonstrations too!

Then at 5pm, Saffia Widdershins will be hosting the Monster Mesh Mash Up – and guests will include Maxwell Graf of Rustica, Kriss Lehmann of Botanical, Loz Hyde of Meshworx and Cain Maven of Maven Homes and Quantum Luxury Homes as well as, hopefully, Froukje Horrenbeeke of Dutchie, Cube Republic of The Cube Republic - and anyone else who wants to join in!

Prim Perfect Talks at the Home and Garden Expo – Masters of Mesh to start us off!

Throughout the Home and Garden Expo, Prim Perfect will be running a series of talks at the Prim Perfect Temple on Home Expo 6.  You’ll see a full list of the talks at the bottom of this post.

Today, to begin the Expo, we have a trio of mesh-enthusiastic designers about their work (and, I suspect, other things as well!): Maxwell Graf of Rustica, Kriss Lehmann of Botanical and Loz Hyde of Meshworx.

People who came to the Prim Perfect Talks at the Xmas Expo might remember a talk by these gentlemen that lasted into the wee small hours – well, certainly for Saffia!  It started at 3pm SLT – she (the host bailed) at 7pm, whimpering it was 3am in the UK, and the guests carried on with the audience until 8pm!

Finally, today (January 10th) is the last day to complete the survey being run by the Centre for Business Development who are gathering information that will be useful to use in identifying issues and provide them with what they hope will be a good basis to start developing strategies.

The Centre is is a collaborative group of business people working together to identify and improve areas that may be hindering growth in Second Life. Their aim is to be proactive in improving business growth, opening avenues of communication with Linden Lab and enriching experiences for SL residents.

So … what are you waiting for? There’s lots of things to do … and later, there may even be a jigsaw …

Prim Perfect Jigsaw: A last look at the Expo

Today’s jigsaw comes from the Christmas Expo. It’s the final day today, so why don’t you pop over and get a few Christmas goodies, and donate a little money to Relay for Life?

Prim Perfect Jigsaw: The Beauty of an Untroubled Sound

Today’s jigsaw comes from a post on Honour Macmillan’s blog – Honour’s Post Menopausal View (of Second Life). In the post – On Movies & Magic & My Big Mouth in Second Life – she reflects on several different things, including working on The Blackened Mirror, and her upcoming talk at the Prim Perfect Pavilion. It happened last night, and anyone who knows Honour will not be in the least surprised when I tell them that it was absolutely fascinating as she talked about her methodology in selecting the places she visited – and she left us with a clutch of landmarks too.

The later conversation, with Maxwell Graf, Loz Hyde, Kriss Lehmann and Cube Republic (who joined s on stage) was also fascinating in a different way, and could lead to some exciting developments for people who are interested in learning more about creating mesh.  More on that later.

We have one last talk in the Pavilion tonight (with Edward Pearse at 3pm – I’ll be posting about that later), and then on Wednesday, the last night of the Expo, we will be having a party from 3pm – 5pm  in the beautiful Pavilion that Eliza Wierwight created for us … to celebrate the Expo, the Pavilion, Prim Perfect and … Christmas!

Meet Honour

Honour Macmillan is the writer of the very popular blog, Honour’s Post Menopausal View of Second Life, for which she travels the grid finding new and remarkable places – frequently very beautiful.  She is also Deputy Editor of Prim Perfect, and an amazing organiser (and trainer) of volunteers for events that have ranged from Burn 2 to Second Life birthdays – including SL9B.

Prim Perfect Talks at the SL Christmas Expo: Rosamoo Mendelsohn, Xia Nishi, and Jessii2009 Warrhol

Today the talks in the gorgeous Prim Perfect Pavilion are at 3pm, when Saffia Widdershins will be talking to Rosamoo Mendelsohn and Xia Nishi of Hunt SL, and Cinder Vales will be talking at 5pm to Jessii2009 Warrhol of Nexgen Aviation and Tribute City.

Hunting is a major area of Second Life – combining socialising, gaming and shopping – all three core activities in Second Life!  Rosamoo and Xia will talk about running their impressive hunt blog, about hunts and hunting in Second Life, and perhaps they’ll even have a few tips to share!

Meet Jessi Warhol

Jessi has worked with the Flying Tigers and the aircraft maker that supports the creation of vintage aircraft (and some modern planes as well – Nexgen Aviation. She’ll be talking about that and her work with Tribute City too.

It’s that time of year again — when ghoulies and ghosties and things that go bump in the night can be found all over the grid. And here, at Prim Perfect, we’ve been chasing after them assiduously to bring you news of the regions that will send the most delicious of shivers down your spine.

Our Region of the Month is the Lovecraft-inspired sim of Innsmouth — a heart-stopping recreation of that lost New England harbour town. Beq Janus has been exploring there; I have talked to the creators of this remarkable region; while Java Jetcity has picked out ten places that you will surely want to visit, especially if you are doing our Halloween Quest.

To complete the Halloween Quest you will need to find thirty numbered pumpkins, which will lead one lucky person to win L$5,000!
