Join us at 2pm SLT today, Monday 27th May, for Designing Worlds at our studio in Garden of Dreams, as we are joined by Chantal Harvey, the well-known machinamatographer and Tony Dyson, the designer who created R2D2, who will be joining us to talk about their fascinating new project – the Bobbekins – which utilises Second Life as a part of a wider project to create interactive electronic materials for children.

This show was recorded earlier in front of a studio audience – today you’ll be able to see the full, edited show with footage of the Bobbekins.

Chantal and Tony talk not only about their project (currently online as an Indiegogo project), but also about their work and careers. It’s a great chance chance to find out more about Tony, Chantal and their fascinating project!

So do come and join us at 2pm!

Or – if you can’t attend in person – tune in at 2pm SLT on Monday for the live show on http://treet.tv/live – or catch it later in the week on our shows page on the Treet.tv web site at http://treet.tv/shows/designingworlds – our very own version of the iPlayer!

Join us at 2pm SLT today, Monday 3rd December, for the new episode of Designing Worlds at our studio in Garden of Dreams where we’ll be exploring the an amazing new region, created to demonstrate the potential and possibilities of sound in Second Life. And it’s a huge amount of fun too!

Of Sound Mind - there's a wealth of sounds here!

Of Sound Mind – there’s a wealth of sounds here!

Usually one goes to LEA (Linden Endowment for the Arts) sims to see the creations of Second Life’s best known (and sometimes newly discovered) artists. Many will offer a high level of interactivity in their creations – some will offer sound as part of this. But Of Sound Mind goes further. It’s an installation – more properly a series of installations – that references primarily sounds. It’s the creation of Lorin Tone and Friends (said friends including Glyph Graves, Madcow Cosmos, Inventor Alchemi, Mia Anais, Meriadne Merlin, P4ndor4 Quintessa, Marcus Parrott, Judi Newall, Chantal Harvey and Cube Republic). There’s a wealth of different environments and sounds to explore – instruments to interact with … and, actually, some stunning things to see, ranging from a spooky cave to a giant musical castle in the air, from a Hindu temple with a wealth of musical instruments to an amazing total windsculpture by Glyph Graves.

We’ll be exploring as many of these as we can fit into the show, talking to Lorin Tone and some of the creators such as Glyph Graves, emSynth, and Meriadne Merlin and – hopefully – inspiring you to pay a visit yourselves!

All this makes for a fascinating show – so make sure that you don’t miss it! Do come and join us at 2pm!

They’ll be joined by Sandry Logan of the Virtual Kennel Club who has been involved in the beta testing and development of the Pathfinder technology, and she will be bringing some of her Pathfinding enabled pets as a demonstration.

This is an opportunity to discover what Pathfinding is, how it can be used in your sim for a variety of functions, and some of the amazing effects you can achieve with it. You’ll also be able ask questions of Lorca and Falcon – either at the show, or by posting your question in comments to this post.

Join us today, Monday 21st May at 2pm SLT in our beautiful studio in Garden of Dreams as we visit the Virtual Mine, a fascinating project in Second Life, created by Sand Castles Studios, in association with the Deep Down Mine documentary film.

The town of Maytown - and the polluting power station beyond

The town of Maytown – and the polluting power station beyond

We’ll be talking to one of the makers of the documentary – Jen Gilomen, and to Gianna Borgnine of Sand Castle studios, as we explore the background to the creation of this region and the documentary, and then explore the area, looking at the issues it raises about the need for power, the cost of mountaintop mining, and the alternatives that could provide the needed power and employment, with far fewer environmental costs.

It makes for a fascinating show – so do come and join us at 2pm!

Or – if you can’t attend in person – tune in at 2pm SLT on Monday for the live show on http://treet.tv/live – where you can now chat with other audience members and even some of the participants during the show – or catch it later in the week on our shows page on the Treet.tv web site at http://treet.tv/shows/designingworlds – our very own version of the iPlayer!

MarkTwain White and Markie the Gnome have told us that they are taking a vacation for a while. Personally, I think Markie is on the run from his wannabe girl friend. So for right now, Where in the World is MarkTwain White is on hiatus. Or at least until Markie finds someone to be her willing boyfriend. We will keep our viewers posted on further developments.

See you in the studio and Happy Hunting!
