The Elements exhibition

The Elements exhibition

A message came to us from the LunaMar Performing Arts, The Spirit Light Galleries:

Why did we never see an arts event in Second Life that combines dance with an exhibition of RL paintings, sculptures, poetry, and creations of digital art?

Well the opportunity is now here!

Fire

Fire

The Spirit Light Dance Company is a Second Life group of dancers with a really outstanding dance repertoire attended by a large audience from all over Second Life and the world. They will give a performance with the theme “The Four Elements:  Fire, Earth, Water and Air”

In collaboration with this, we organized an arts exhibit with the same theme The Four Elements. Specially for that purpose, a beautiful gallery has been created to display artwork and poetry panels by SL creators using this theme. There are 4 pavilions decorated into one of the Elements in which art of 23 artists is displayed. Well known artists as well as new residents who never have exhibited before. Special and not often seen in SL is that a lot of poems are also displayed .We can conclude that art in all it forms are connected in this special exhibition.

Mad Pea have launched an exciting new game, and when I spoke to Kiana recently, she was very excited about it!

This is the premise:

Ancient Incan stories whisper of a hidden cave in the remote mountains of Ecuador where a vault lay sheltered from the light of day, untouched for centuries. According to legend, the vault is filled with precious gems and unimaginable treasures that are ripe for the taking. Previous explorers have left a map that leads to the place the locals call “The Devil’s Cave”. Scribbled on the back of the map are notes citing encounters with horrific creatures and deadly traps that guard the cave. Many who have tried to find the treasure returned with terrible injuries, missing limbs, and some never returned at all. However, not everyone is so unfortunate, and that is why we’re offering you the chance of a lifetime.

MadPea Cartographers have deciphered the cryptic treasure map for you.  This will not be an easy task, but if you survive and unlock the ancient Incan vault, you will be generously rewarded. Ready for a Treasure Hunt of a lifetime!?

For this game, you will need to purchase a HUD from the mystical crate at the start of the game for 100$L and wear it. It will set in its correct position on your screen.

The HUD

The HUD

Once you purchase the HUD it will ask you which viewer you are using (and MadPea strongly recommend for you to use the latest official SL viewer or latest release of Firestorm for the ultimate immersive experience of the game).. Make sure to select the one you are planning to use for the hunt. You will receive free HUD updates as needed.

The game is grid wide – so be prepared to travel!

There are fifteen high quality prizes to be won, and the first one to complete the mission will receive and additional prize of 10,000$L.

More details here on the MadPea blog!

Now available on the web – our latest episode, as we return to the beautiful park estate of Calas Galadhon.

Calas Galadhon is a famously beautiful eleven-region park estate that has recently undergone a period of renovation and refurbishment. We visited once before, back in 2011, but in case there are any viewers who haven’t seen every episode… we fill in the background to the estate before setting off to explore some stunningly beautiful regions! Last time, we focused on the northern sims – this time we turn our attention to the south, we explore—on foot and by water—some of the most beautiful regions in Second Life with Tymus Tenk, one of the owners of the park (with Truck Meredith).
